DOLORES MARIE HARRISON’S BODY RECOVERED

 

 

Trenton, NJ — Mercer County Prosecutor Daniel G. Giaquinto and Hamilton Township Chief of Police James Collins announced today that the body of Dolores Marie Harrison was found early this morning near Mercer County Park, behind the Mercer County Vocational/Technical School, Hamilton, NJ.

 

Investigators from multiple agencies have been searching the Delaware River, near Camden, NJ, for Ms. Harrison’s body since April 8, 2003, when she was reported missing from her Doreen Road home in Hamilton. Through a joint investigation by detectives from the Hamilton Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, it was determined that a homicide occurred.  The victim’s son, Benjamin J. Harrison (DOB 5/3/78), was arrested and charged with his mother’s murder on April 9.  He remains in the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $750,000 bail.

 

Yesterday afternoon, the Hamilton Police Department received information that Ms. Harrison’s body was buried in Mercer County Park in the vicinity of the Mercer County Vocational/Technical School.  Police from Hamilton and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, assisted by the Nottingham Fire Company and employees from Hamilton Township Public Works Department, worked from approximately 5 p.m. yesterday until the early morning hours today and recovered Ms. Harrison’s body and evidence related to the homicide.

Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
