“MERCER’S MOST WANTED” CAUGHT

Trenton, NJ — Mercer County Joseph L. Bocchini Jr. announced today that a Hamilton man wanted on numerous county warrants was arrested yesterday afternoon by members of the New York-New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Task force members arrested Corey Jones, 20, whose last known address is the 200 block of Reeves Avenue, Hamilton, at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday in a taxicab on the corner of Banks and North Willow streets in Trenton.

Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of the cab and took Jones into custody without incident.  At the time of his arrest, Jones was carrying a .22 caliber handgun in his waistband.  The gun was seized along with a quantity of marijuana, a bulletproof vest, a large capacity magazine and hollow nosed bullets.

In April 2003, Jones was featured during a “Mercer’s Most Wanted” segment on WZBN television.  He was wanted on county warrants for a May 2002 armed robbery, burglary, narcotics and weapons offenses.  In addition, Jones is now facing various drug and weapons charges.

Officers from the prosecutor’s office, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Trenton police arrested Jones, who is currently being held at the Mercer County Correction Center.

Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
