Trenton, NJ — The Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, led by Lt. Al Paglione and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit, seized three ounces of crack cocaine and a Tech-9 semi-automatic machine gun last night, First Assistant Prosecutor Charles E. Waldron announced today.

Officers executed a search warrant last night at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the residence of Brenda Mapp, 44, of the first block of Kirkeride Avenue, Trenton.  Approximately two and a half ounces of what Lt. Paglione described to be “freshly cooked” crack cocaine were found in the residence, the majority of which was hidden inside of a Christmas angel tree topper.  Paglione stated that the crack was moist, the stove was still lit and the heating utensil still warm.  A Tech-9 semi-automatic machine gun with a 30-round magazine containing hollow-nosed bullets was located under a couch in the living room.  According to Lt. Paglione, assorted paraphernalia associated with the production of crack cocaine from powder cocaine (baking soda, heating utensils and mixers) were also seized.

No one was found inside of the residence and an arrest warrant was issued for Mapp, who was arrested this morning at approximately 11 a.m. at her mother’s residence on Buttonwood Avenue in Ewing.  She is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school, possession of an assault weapon while in the course of committing a narcotics offense, possession of an assault firearm with a defaced serial number, possession of hollow-nosed bullets, possession of a large capacity magazine and maintaining a narcotics nuisance.

Upon the arrival of the task force at the Mapp residence last night, two individuals located directly across the street were also arrested as a result of the investigation.  Jamar Tucker AKA “J Tuck,” 18, of the first block of Baron Street, Trenton, was arrested and charged with possession of CDS (crack cocaine) and possession of CDS with the intent to distribute.  Eric Lacy, 18, of the first block of Rosedale Avenue, Ewing, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.

Assisting in the arrests were the West Windsor Police, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department and Trenton’s Vice Enforcement Unit.

Mapp and Tucker are being held in the Mercer County Corrections Center in lieu of $60,000 and $20,000 cash bail, respectively.  Lacy was released on his own recognizance.
