ROSARIO DIGIROLAMO ARRESTED
FOR THE MURDER OF AMY GIORDANO

 Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph L. Bocchini Jr. today announced that Rosario DiGirolamo has been arrested for the murder of Amy Giordano on June 7, 2007, in Hightstown. 

DiGirolamo, 33, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 4:45 this afternoon in the basement of his parents’ home on East 2nd Street in Brooklyn by members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, Trenton and New York Divisions.   

Additionally, he is charged with tampering with evidence, a fourth-degree crime. 

“Since June, my office in conjunction with the New Jersey State Police, the Hightstown Police Department, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the New York Police Department, the Delaware State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has worked tirelessly on this case,” Bocchini stated. 

“The case has taken several turns over the past 10 months including the suspect’s flight to Italy and his arrest by authorities in Delaware,” Bocchini continued. 

He specifically credited Detective James Francis of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit, Detective Michael Rosica of the New Jersey State Police, Detective Benjamin Miller of the Hightstown Police Department and Detective Jose Gonclaves of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office for their hard work and dedication to the investigation.
