UPDATE:  AMY GIORDANO MURDER INVESTIGATION  

Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph L. Bocchini Jr. today issued the following statement concerning the Amy Giordano murder investigation: 

Our investigation into the murder of Amy Giordano led us to an area of Staten Island where human skeletal remains were found today.  The remains have not yet been identified pending the results of DNA testing.  The remains were found in a suitcase in a pond in Staten Island. 

The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office is being assisted by the NYPD, the New York Park Police, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the New Jersey State Police and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, additional details can not be released at this time.
