Trenton, NJ — A Trenton man who pled guilty to sexual assault charges was recently taken into custody by the Central Jersey Fugitive Task Force (CJFTF), Mercer County Prosecutor Daniel G. Giaquinto and U.S. Marshal Charles L. McNeal announced.
Stanley Johnson, Jr., 30, whose last known address is the 200 block of Hyland Avenue in Trenton, was arrested late Friday afternoon at the intersection of Frankford and Grant Streets in Philadelphia by members of the task force. The Philadelphia Police Department assisted the task force with the arrest. Through an investigation, the task force identified a car driven by the defendant as a black 1993 Nissan Altima. They set up surveillance, located the car, executed a motor vehicle stop and apprehended the defendant.
Johnson pled guilty to statutory sexual assault and various other sexual assault charges on January 22, 2001 to Bucks County Common Pleas Court Judge Kenneth G. Biehn. The incident occurred on July 18, 2000 and involved a 15-year-old Falls Township girl.
Johnson was sentenced to one – two years of incarceration followed by county probation for three years consecutive to his prison term. He failed to report to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown, Pa. on February 23, 2001 to begin serving his sentence. The Bucks County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Unit contacted Detective Cory S. Kammler II of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office in the middle of March to enlist the assistance of the task force.
The Central Jersey Fugitive Task Force targets violent and drug-related fugitives wanted on state and federal warrants. It is led by Mercer County Prosecutor Daniel G. Giaquinto and U.S. Marshal Charles L. McNeal and comprised of members of the Trenton District of the U.S. Marshals Service and officers of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the New Jersey State Police, the Hamilton Township Police Department and the Trenton Police Department.
