GRAND JURY TAKES NO ACTION IN COLLEGE PRESIDENT’S CASE

Trenton, NJ — Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph L. Bocchini announced today that a Mercer County grand jury found no cause for action after consideration of the criminal sexual contact complaint made against the president of Mercer County Community College.

The complaint alleges that Robert Rose, 64, of Lawrence, touched and grabbed various areas of the victim’s body on May 9, 2003, in Rose’s office at the West Windsor campus of the college.  Rose was processed at the West Windsor Township Police Department on May 22, 2003, and released on his own recognizance.

By definition, no cause for action means that a majority of grand jurors could not agree to no bill or indict the charges.

Prosecutor Bocchini stated that he will discuss the matter with his senior staff and make a decision how to proceed with the case in the near future.
