CHRONIC OFFENDER INDICTMENT RETURNED BY MERCER COUNTY GRAND JURY 

Trenton, NJ—Mercer County Prosecutor Daniel G. Giaquinto  announced that the newly formed Chronic Offender Unit presented three of its targets to a Mercer County Grand Jury resulting in the following indictments:

 

William Grice was indicted for burglary and theft by unlawful taking at the Health Care Pharmacy in Trenton on June 9, 2002.  Grice allegedly stole more than $8,700 in merchandise.  Grice faces an extended term and is exposed to a jail term of 20 years under the indictment.  His bail was set at $30,000 cash by Superior Court Judge Paul T. Koenig.  Grice is being held at the Mercer County Corrections Center pending trial.

 

Mark Johnson, who is currently under indictment for the August 12, 2002 robbery of a woman in the ladies room of the Hamilton AMC 24 Theater, was indicted for theft by receiving stolen property (3rd degree).  Johnson was in possession of a Plymouth Acclaim automobile whose ignition had been “pulled”.  Johnson faces a five-year jail term under the indictment.  Johnson is currently being held at the Mercer County Corrections Center in lieu of $100,000 combined bail.

 

Daniel Woolverton was indicted for the September 4, 2002 robbery (2nd degree) of the CVS Pharmacy located on Route 33 in Hamilton.  Woolverton is currently under indictment for possession of c.d.s. in a school zone and two other files pending indictment.  He faces a 10-year jail term on the robbery indictment with 85% parole ineligibility.  He is free on $2,500 bail.

 

Assistant Prosecutor Randy Norris presented the cases to the grand jury.

 

Despite having been charged with a crime, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
