TRENTON – In the aftermath of last week’s terrorist attacks, the New
Jersey State Office of Victim-Witness Advocacy has organized a statewide Crisis
Response Team to help mobilize care giving resources and crisis intervention
services. Mercer County Prosecutor
Daniel G. Giaquinto announced today that his office is requesting professional
volunteers from the Mercer County area to assist in these efforts.
In
a release distributed yesterday by the New Jersey Department of Law and Public
Safety, Acting Governor Donald T. DiFrancesco stated that the Crisis Response
Team has three main objectives:

To
assist the community’s leadership plan ways to deal with the emotional
aftershocks of the
terrorist attacks;
·
To
bring together the community’s care givers, from mental health service
providers
to clergy members, for
specialized training;
·
Then,
together with the community helpers, to start providing educational or
“debriefing”
sessions for everyone affected by the tragedy.
The
State Office of Victim-Witness Advocacy and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s
Office are requesting professional volunteers from the following areas to assist
on the Crisis Response Team: mental health workers and members of clergy and law
enforcement. Professionals must be
certified in their fields. If you
